As a parent of an eighth grader at JFK Middle School, I am deeply committed to the success of our public schools. That’s why I’ve served on the Northampton School Committee for the last 6 years. It hasn’t always been easy—late nights, high stakes, hard decisions. But, when I talk to students who find joy and meaning in their classrooms, I am inspired to deepen my commitment. 

I have spent the last 20+ years of my life working with communities advocating for children through better education, transportation, housing and responsive government. My partner, Nicole, and I chose to live in Northampton because of the values we share with the people here, such as prioritizing equity and excellence in education, involving the whole community in civic decision-making, and embracing positive change even in the face of turmoil and fear. These are the same values I bring to my role on the School Committee.

I am asking for your vote so I can continue to work deeply with the community to make sure all voices are heard and to stand up for our shared values when faced with tough decisions.
